Mrs. Mansouri chaired the work of the Contact Point Committee of the African Peer Review Mechanism

The Secretary of State to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, in charge of African Affairs, Mrs.Bakhta Selma Mansouri, chaired on Thursday the proceedings of the Focal Points Committee of the African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM), held via videoconference.

The meeting represented a key step in preparing for the APRM Heads of State and Government Forum, scheduled for February 2026, under the chairmanship of President of the Republic; Mr.Abdelmadjid Tebboune, in his capacity as Forum Chair. The Forum will be marked by the handover of the APRM presidency from Algeria to the Republic of Uganda, in a context that upholds the principle of continuity in steering continental efforts toward the promotion of governance and the strengthening of coordination among member states.

Reviewing the progress made in APRM programs and the reports of the continental secretariat, the Committee examined the files related to the development of governance tools before attending a presentation on the outcomes of the 5th Youth Symposium and efforts to enhance their participation in governance and development pathways across the continent.
